you could try the old stand by: go on strike. how bad she'll let things get before she'll pitch in. This isn't my favorite approach, but I find that the one time Momma (me) ain't cooking dinner, is enough to get my family's attention. You could also try a rewards system for cleaning. Yes, it's a bit childish but she's acting like a. So no TV, internet, etc., after dinner till dinner and the house in general is picked up. No going out on the weekends till the house/bathrooms/yard are dealt with. It's going to require your leadership by you paving the way, offering encouragement, making it at least kind of fun, and being very complimentary of every one's impressive work. We also have a standing room in our house that if one of us is cleaning, every one is cleaning till the cleaning gets done. Hell, even my year old can empty the dish washer and put her cloth diapers away. My 3 year old can put all her toys and books away and wipe down her table. Shit ain't hard. It just takes self discipline. Good luck slew40, this stuff won't be solved in one day, one weekend or even a month but eventually it become habit and she'll like it that way.
